ORIGINS

The Childhood Cancer Foundation, R.O.C. (CCF) was officially established in July 1982. Its founding stemmed from an international research project funded by the National Science Council in 1981, titled The Impact of Childhood Cancer on Families。This study revealed the profound physical, emotional, and financial impact childhood cancer has on children and their families, sparking a collective call within society to create a dedicated organization to support families facing the challenges of cancer.

Encouraged by Dr. Ida Martinson from the United States, a group of medical and nursing professionals from National Taiwan University (NTU) joined forces—among them Professor Kuo-Sin Lin (pediatric hematology and oncology), Professor Zhong-Xiang Li (pediatrics), Professor Yu-Mei Yu (Director of NTU School of Nursing), and Professor Yueh-Chih Chen—together with generous contributions from caring members of society, to establish the Foundation.

MISSION

The Foundation is committed to helping children with cancer receive appropriate medical care and to raising public understanding and compassion for childhood cancer, ensuring that affected children and their families no longer face the journey alone.

Our logo "a vibrant green meadow" embodies the spirit of life and the promise of renewal. It represents our commitment to supporting children on their journey to recovery and our heartfelt wish that every child may grow strong, healthy, and hopeful—always with a smile.
